Yes indeed. As a randonneur, I'm often out at night in the summer, and it's a highlight of the summer. I've not seen any displays this year :(. I remember watching a fantastic display right across the northern sky, on the way back to Seething last year, 350km into the Seething 600. Sadly this year, there was a cold NE wind off the North Sea, and a low misty Haar.

Seen from the train on the way back form London on Saturday. The black blobs are bits of dirt on the windows.

It is simpler than it looks.

Stuffing these two in clouds, cos that's where I think they should go! This was on Sunday (20th) when we had a fair amount of misty-fog around our neck of the woods.

Now, before you ask, that green blob is lens flare! On a track at the back of Rottingdean.



Spooky huh? About 10.30am on top of Mt. Harry Hill looking back towards Lewes.
