Well my legs are excercised by the bike and the occasional go on the rowing machine so I was wondering about my trunk.  What exercise can I do to build up my lower back and tummy.

Do a google search for "core exercises" or beg/borrow a copy of Cyclo-Core which ties core exercises in with turbo trainer work to give you proper abs and a strong core for those long rides*, I got a set of the DVDs from Mrs T last year and they are easy to follow and work.  His website is at Cyclo-CORE Training Programs, Cycling Plans, and Core Workouts for Avid Cyclists
