Does a 400 extended by a 200 ECE count as a 600 in this case ?

100% (though it would have to be a BR hyper!).
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

Yes. SR Steve used a similar scheme for his hyper last year.

Just an observation. The hyper SR isn't an official thing. FC just noticed that some of us had ridden 4 x 600 plus in a season, described this as a hyper SR and published a list. That was in 2006.

Given that going hyper from this thread seems to be a very valued achievement perhaps it's time that it was made an official AUK award with a decent shiny badge.  It's something I'd be more than happy to support as its a 'doable' award plus supports the 600km events which has to be a good think for a long distance cycling club.

FTR, there have been a few other Awesome Ladies out there over the years, recording hypers - Vicki Brown, Heather Swift and Gabrielle Patzner were three I could find. That said, it's a pretty select group - and there SO should be a shiny badge for it!

I guess 2006 was when we did a hyper SR with 1200s and 1000s as it was the first year that we discovered that we could do multiple grand brevets in the same year, hence DC spotting what we had been up to and publishing a table.

A shiny badge would be awesome.

Sneaky unofficial awards have a certain attraction.

100% (though it would have to be a BR hyper!).

Nice! So I'm an unofficial BR hyper randonneur this year ... or something.

I suppose I could always make my own badge for that  ;D

Would we prefer unofficial badges?  Really cool patches that can be sewn onto saddle bags are really easy these days. If we can get a good design happy to aid and abet.

Subject to validation we should soon be joining little sibling the Hyper SR club (thanks for that research Chris).

In the spirit of inventing new unofficial awards, how about an Hyper AAA Super Randonneur?

If it's a cure it's failed.  I'm a regular offender.

HYPERSPACE (sub beam)

(A-6: SEEK-LOCATE-DESTROY)
According to Avon, the means by which all Federation communications were transmitted. The messages were converted to zeta-3 particles before scrambling. A sub-beam communicator was found on Cephlon and used to contact Liberator: this presumably used the same principle, and likewise the sub-space communicator taken by Coser to UP-Weapon. The A-line pulse codes featured in Killer may have been an alternative means of transmitting information, or new and improved communications technology.

In 2016 I've done 6 x 600...

....though currently only four show on the results page, cos the Exe-Buzzard, from a few weeks ago, is not dead and buried (i.e. it's NOT properly an ex-buzzard) but rather still soaring in the clouds, and I've not even finished washing my kit from the 3 Coasts, so I'd hardly expect that to be up just yet !!

Congrats to Andy Curran on his 'much more than a bit hyper', too

and of course to Lindsay

Just checked Andy's stats - almost there - incredaburgable

Brimstone/Mille Pennines/LEL/Flatlands. I'd like to see Veloboy's list. Hyper 1000 for him I believe.
