OD - how could you possibly miss the obvious North Sea Oil and Gas inspired name?!

Can't get the staff these days!

I'm not sure you can call a kid "Dogger Bank" although I follow your reasoning.  I was actually trying to be mildly helpful  :smug:

Trent Lane sounds like a 70s porn star.

Is that a bad thing though ?

A night of many visitations, lots of COR and a good sized peloton.
Strangely all the visitations happened before all the COR'ing, the peloton only stopped for me so OD could take the piss and photos, he was unaware of Oaky having caught us earlier only to be struck by the P faery or the same would have happened. Save for some lucky bikemanship I narrowly avoided diving in to both sides of the first COR path when trying to avoid a large pothole and then a bed of nettles some of which wanted to hitch a ride.
The intrepid quartet of North-West Witham sneaked in some bonus COR on the return home too alongside Colemans Lake turning in to the deceptively looking benign concreted road having waved off Tomsk on his tarmac route under the A12.  The hard surface soon becomes a gravel road with plenty of puddled pot holes to avoid with potentially dogging vans parked but more likely fishermen's vehicles, didn't stop DL getting excited though.  There were exclamations of disbelief when we reached the grassy singletrack past the farm at the end, although I knew what awaited us  :demon: I managed to avoid nettle stings for the second time of the evening.
A very enjoyable evening once again and the landlord of The Layer Fox was certainly pleased to see us to brighten an otherwise very quiet evening for him.
The Strava Flyby makes for an interesting watch, especially with Okay's COR avoidance and the off-roaders not being far behind being able to see red lights just ahead before ducking down some more COR

Have I mentioned there was a good amount of COR'ing??

Looks like I only just missed you at Turkey Cock Lane in which case I could have enjoyed the sewage works COR as well instead of heading along the alternative tarmac route...

It's what Genesis Croix de Fers and Surly LHTs were built for, you should all be grateful for my route expertise.

Do you know what?  I think that's my coat hung over there in the corner. I'll go and get it!

Please do.

Turning to Friday night's frivolities, who is attending and is there any sort of plan ?  I need to decide how to get there and back which largely depends on what sort of condition I might be in when I leave.

I should add that the route I took last night wasn't my intended COR avoidance route (which followed the tedshred version much more closely).  I decided after the puncture to turn south on the Kelvedon/Coggeshall road and take a shorter route, missing out on the Great Tey excursion, in order to try to arrive at the pub at a similar time to the peloton.

I apologise in advance for any typo's you may find in this post as it is being typed from my iphone.......

Fantastic to get out last night and join up with my old pals again, although Greater Angrier did their best to prevent me from setting off from Spa Rd rndbt at 7.30 a moderate push saw me eventually hook on to the back of Tomsk's wheel just the otherside of Silver End.

My eagle eyes had spotted one of Ted's COR green lane excursions but not the other one from Copford which Tippers had spotted but we went for it anyway!! Just about survived, it's tough if you're not riding Fred  :'(

To top off an enjoyable evening of catching up we took part in some further COR action (we being myself, OD, Huggy and The Hustler or Quaffer aka Andy) having nearly come off on this particular section I had the pleasant comment from OD ringing in my ears of 'stick with us chaps and we will see you right'  ::-)

After next week I hope normal service regarding attendance will resume and I can relieve Andy of his treasurer duties which I could see were getting a little stressful last night  :o

Our new treasurer-elect was put under pressure, both with the previous incumbent assessing his performance and a large unruly group, but performed admirably. It can only be a matter of time until OD makes the appointment permanent.

I don't mind who minds the Hello Kitty kitty although clearly it needs to be someone who is out most weeks or can get the kitty to another rider if they are going to be absent.

However, I don't think the Beer Bitch should automatically be the kitty holder.  Perhaps Beer Bitching duties can rotate?  Its a bit unfair if one person is the subject of abuse plus unreasonable demands week after week.

What do we think?

I won't be out next week but can someone ensure ted is Beer Bitch for the evening?  Thanks for volunteering yourself so generously
