Viper sounds like a winner...

Or perhaps a pint in Viper then over to the Wheatsheaf (Writtle) for a Ruby Red.... (though I suspect the faffing of unlocking and locking will reduce drinking time availability...)

I don't know where the Viper is, but Writtle is within riding distance from the western fringes ... unfortunately I'm in Reading tomorrow and wont be able to be back at a reasonable time.

However, next week is scheduled to be Gt Waltham which is again very reachable, so please don't change that. Most definitely don't change the 22nd March, with Hatfield Broad Oak being perhaps the best destination MEMWNS has ever visited.

Hatfield not Peverel is a remote outpost as far as I am concerned.

I'm up for a ride out tonight.  The Viper sounds good.

I can meet there or join in along the route if we have one planned.

Hi

If you don't mind riding at a novices pace, ping me a message when you leave and I'll meet you at the top of woodhill road in Danbury (just below the crickets)

Else I'll see you there about 9:00

Hi Jan - no probs, it usually takes me about 20 mins to get to the Penny Royal Road on the fixed

I'll aim for a 19:20 start from home, so see you around 19:40-45 ?

Its about 23km to the Viper from there but there's a couple of lumps and I am a bit tired - that gives us a bit of leeway on either time to get there or bonus drinking time....

Joergen

I'm hoping to make it out (assuming I can finish a pesky work task and find a working bike)... will probably be approaching somewhere along the same lines as you from Stock/Inagestone so keep an eye out for me!

So with this in mind ^^^ I take it tomorrow night we shall be heading towards the Rose & Crown Great Waltham???

Hmmh, 90k round trip.  That will have to depend on how tomorrow's off site goes.

That's the beauty of FORWARD PLANNING innit?!?  If you live on the outer reaches of mid-Essex like what you do you sometimes get a target pub which is a few miles away, (NB miles, the official measurement for distance for mid-Essex and the rest of our Godforsaken land) and other times the target pub is closer by.  Of course the solution is to live in the middle of mid-Essex which is Witham  :smug:

Looks like the Tippers family will be moving more towards the fringes of the county soon as well! (early days though)

Anyway, I am unlikely to be out tomorrow, as usual.

Km sounds further, end of discussion.

Which adds vim and vigour to my drive to offer you lot an alternative to audaxing.  Not that there is anything wrong with audaxing, I enjoy a little myself every now and then, its just that I don't want you lot getting obsessed.  Variety and the spices of life and all that.
