R650 long drops - which way round?
« on: 25 January, 2012, 07:39:47 pm »
I've put some Shimano R650s long drop brakes on my new bike, but I've suddenly panicked that they're the wrong way round . I know the front should have a longer bolt, but the two callipers are slightly different in design.  Without taking things to bits, can someone confirm if this is the right or wrong way round? click (NB: That image is one I pulled up from google.)

TIA.
What on earth am I doing here on this beautiful day?! This is the only life I've got!!

The pictured bike looks OK.

I think you've fitted them correctly: the rear pivot bolt is so much shorter than the front that you wouldn't get the nut on if you tried to fit it to the fork.
Or the front brake would be horribly loose on the brake bridge.
