Red Dog is a possibility...

It is Beaujolais Day tomorrow so I have to be good.

Does that incorporate another 'off site meeting' all day?

Don't think I'm out tonight, still a little stiff and not feeling the love for more rain.

By 7:30 the sun will be shining again.

I'm quite looking forward to getting awheel this evening, even if it is a little moist.  This will be Dakota's third trip out and about in mid-Essex.  She was a little pensive to begin with ...

... but becoming less so as the miles roll by.

You are going to the Royal Oak at Hazeleigh

I am not.  We have two birthdays at home today (possibly 3 as number 2 grandchild is due today).

Congratulations old lad, both on your birthday ( are you 60?) and being a Grand parent again.

Congrats Ted!

Anyway, I might potentially be able to make it out tonight....after I put the chain back on the fixed. There seems 2 be 2 Royal Oaks that could fit the bill....one looks to be on the A414 reasonably close to The Hurdlemakers Arms and one is on the B1010 (Farmbridge Rd) just outside Maldon. Which one should I aim for? Not much chance I will be making Spa road so will find my own way.

I think it's the B1010 one that OD intended.

 OK. I looking on street view and the one on the A414 looked much more like the kind of shit hole he might prefer (good beer of course)  ;D

hmm...

A414 Royal Oak

B1010 Royal Oak

I was guessing the latter on the basis of its website URL having "Hazeleigh" in the name (as per OD's forward planning document).  (The gallery on the website implies it has changed colour since the Google Streetview car went past).

Of course, we could end up in the wrong one, or split between the two and OD would still claim it was a FORWARD PLANNING victory!

I might come through Maldon and pop by The Farmer's Yard to recover after Market Hill  ;D

Who's going from Witham?

I'm hoping to be able to make the Spa Rd rendezvous point this week.  Anyone else, or shall I head direct from home instead?

Hmm... I was intending to loop round and approach from the south, but that sounds like a good alternative plan.

A very quick plot of something to route us is this
I'll have it loaded, any other suggestions can be followed too.

ETA: I think I've got the correct Royal Oak  :-X

It is indeed the correct Royal Oak.  It does miss the Farmers Arms, thobut!

We've got a new gas boiler being fitted on Thursday and Friday, so Weds evening will be spent moving furniture and generally getting sorted out in preparation, so I won't be out  :(
