Well that was rather nice and relaxing week end. I must take my Ninja tent again. Despite copius application of Torslanda supplied 'caution trippy uppy things' signage the difficult to see, non reflective lightweight dyneema tent guylines took out several victims. Of course the tent was in splendid isolation originally (once we had sorted out the booking and management of spaces, ahem). However camp central seemed to grow around the tent with canopy and seats gravitating to the rear. This did, I must complain, interfere with early morning hedge inspections. ( I will see about changing the guys for fluorescents.) Alcohol, of course, had no part to play in any of these events.
Apollo was rather chuffed with the excellent bike provided by John. (This is a bit of an understatement)
Camp site is very attractive and was busy. Cafe failed to open as advertised at 8am resulting in purchased sausages etc from the shop together with fresh rolls. In the event this proved to be a rather pleasant way to start the day.
Much to my surprise, pickle juice has been a great success regarding prevention and treatment of cramp. The speed with which it deals with muscle twitching and cramp grumbling is quite amazing. I have had two full nights sleep in a tent, a first on a YACF week end and I have been to a few! How it works, I don't have a clue.
Also good to catch up with Joyce and Simon who visited both days and to see Peter again. Nigel is sporting new mobile accommodation which is most impressive.
Look forward to future meet as YACF events are fun. Note to self, its no good buying a new melamine plate if you dont bring the bloody thing.
Ps I am a Lancastrian.
