There's a sea eagle just out of shot.  Honest.  Near the Eagle Watch place on Mull.

Some nice potholes along the stream bed here.  Kintyre.

Slovenia call themselves "the land of living water", I wouldn't argue:

one end of Vintgar Gorge, near Bled

Pericnik, that has the added advantage that...

You can walk behind them

Outside the Skocjan caves, where there is the larges underground cavern in Europe

Slap Rinka in the Logar Valley (Slap is Slovenian for waterfall)

That's me taking a look at where I nearly went in my canoe (as the Vermillion River, Northern Minnesota, forces its way through a small rocky gap and down several metres).

This is the deceptively tranquil scene leading up to it.  As you approach the final bend (only some 20 yards from the falls themselves) we heard a worrying roar and so got out to see what was around the bend.  Extremely good decision.

Tip.  Always go by foot to investigate why a river is making a worrying roaring sound around the corner.

I've forgotten the names of these falls but they're near Hood River in Oregon.
We were there last October.

Multnomah Falls, upper and lower.  Tallest of many attractive waterfalls in the area

To do justice to Cauldron Snout, you really need sound effects.

There's a definite Teesdale bias to this thread.

Good ;D

Is there anywhere better?

Another one of Cauldron Snout (the bottom):

Low Force again (it reminds me of a Wainwright sketch in his guide to the Pennine Way, but I can't find it online). Model: LindaG.

Not Teesdale, but Cumbria. Aira Force, in fact.

The B+B we stayed in last night was frequented by Wainwright.  By coincidence.

And Crusty had slippery shoes on on Sunday so I decided not to make him scramble down the icy path to see the snout of The Snout so I shall have to take him again. However shall I bear it?

It's a better walk if you do the full circuit along the Tees to Widdybank Farm, under Falcon Clints and back to the Cow Green road (though you probably know that).
