Spezialradmesse Aka 'Spezi'
« on: 01 May, 2008, 12:25:19 pm »
Last weekend I went to the 'spezialradmesse' in Germershiem. My photos from the event are here.

Plenty of recumbents and folders on show, as well as other interesting and unusual bikes.

Don't ask.

Nice pics, you have an eye for details!
But what on earth is this?

That Bernds folder seem like a good alternative to Brompton! Did you have a go?

Looks like some sort of reciprocating drive to me, just not very elegantly engineered. Perhaps because it's intended to be retrofittable to a normal transmission?

The Trice-based velomobile looks tempting...
Profit or planet?

Looks like it changes the circular motion of pedaling to a back and forth movement.

As to why? I'm not sure. Maybe useful to people with limited leg mobility(?).

I didn't try one, nor did I spend much time looking at them for that matter. Folded size looks like its larger than the brompton tho'. Me, I'm after a birdy.

Treadle drive, nice.
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Rocket engine optional? :D

If my squintling eyesight and dodgy memory-branes are working, the gadget on the trailer is a Velérique like wot this is:
