The Rozzers have been to the site. The van I reported had gone, no surprise, but they did a 4x4 pickup, that was also there earlier, for obstruction.  ;D

This morning, just after 0600, I reported, via 101, a van which had only left room for one person to pass as it was parked on the footway. I just took a call from the rozzers asking if the van is still there, I don't know I can't see it. Any way they said the same to me as a CEO did last week, which is if there is room for a pram or disability buggy/wheelchair to get by then it isn't obstruction!

So if I obstruct the road, but leave room for bicycles, motorbikes, and scooters to pass, it isn't an obstruction…  :demon:

THis was on the local news last night. It's the Newcastle Central Motorway

On the video footage the hazards were flashing and I'm pretty certain it was a Mercedes

It flooded yesterday during the day. I saw the report on the BBC news at 10:30pm

But just look at that fully-laden touring bike selfishly taking up over a metre's width of sensible car-parking space! Did you know that for every 16 bike stands you take away you can create a parking space for one whole Mini or as much as two-thirds of a MINI? Why, that means if every bike space in Croydon were tarmacced over, there'd be room for another Audi Qashqai!

George is very nice, from what I can tell at this distance. Is that a Karrimor front pannier? Whatever it is, and whatever precise type of velocipede he may be, he's clearly having fun being it and being it with (presumably) that there Steph - who also takes up not two, not one, but no disabled parking spaces! No, not even a sixteenth of an Audi Heffalumpenwagen!

It looks like one of those rising barriers.  In a similar vein:

Looks like the stump or bollard is shaped in such a way that a car being driven fast enough could kind of drive up it and maroon itself.

I did consider that it may be a rising bollard but I've never seen one that shape. It does look like a vehicle stranded "on top"

The Dutch ones (second video) seem to be that ramped shape.  The last car actually takes off.

This was in my local Coop today

Neither of these had blue badges and those are the only two disabled spaces in the car park. To add to it both vehicles had their won little messages. The Disco has 'Don't follow me, you won't make it' on the back wheel and the Astra had one that obviously shows his driving style: 'Sorry officer, I thought you wanted to race'

'Don't follow me, you won't make it'

Junior has a ski-related top which says that.
It's probably true.

I'm not convinced that's a rising bollard. It looks like a stone set in the paving to me. Probably its slope combined with the car's speed and 'lucky' angle to allow the wheel to climb it. But someone who knows the exact site will be along in a minute!

Not a rising bollard. It's set into the pavement edge and, as everybody knows, violence grows driving on the pavement is illegal in the UK. So there's no reason for a Nazi local council to do so.

Sorry 'bout the poor phone shot.  What the shadow is hiding is that there is no room to walk between the tree and hedge without turning sideways and doing a bit of a shuffle.

Still.  I's rather the tree was there than not.
