Wild country hoolie 2.

Review please Luke.  This is a new model isn't it?  Someone was asking me if I'd heard of it and I hadn't.  Looks similar to one of the discontinued TN Lasers.  If Wild Country are raiding TNs back catalogue I hope they get round to the Solar 2 soon.

I bought it as it was between my two existing tents (terra nova laser comp, and a wild country Duolite tourer) in terms of both weight and size. It's only had a couple of outings so far, so my experience of it is limited.

It's not quite as well made as the other two overall, but I think that is saying more about the quality of those two tents than it is about the hoolie. It's quick to pitch - I can get it up in under five minutes without trying too hard. There is more space in the inner than in my big tent  ::-)

I'll upload some more photos later.

Don't ask.

After a couple of years of tent testing and tiny baby wrangling, we decided that we could probably manage with our Nallo 2GT this weekend, so pitched it in the garden.  It's lovely!  The tent, not the garden, I should point out. ;D

Being inside your favourite tent (and it rained a little while we were in there) is a great feeling :) :) :)

Once half the tents that were around me were taken down I could take a photo of mine.

Having lightweight camping gear means getting from car park to tent site without needing to hire a trolley.

It is simpler than it looks.

Saw this at 3:00am yesterday.

Managed to take a photo without dropping the camera or falling over.

Yes, it is, surprisingly quick to put up if you don't use all the guy ropes. I like it a lot, as I can stand up in it, which is why we got it.

But will you be charged for a tent or a camper van?

If I won the lottery, the first tent I would buy would be it's big brother the Laser Space 5 :). Well thought out tents.

I think I saw that the 2 was discontinued :(

I used some funny Y section blue tent pegs for the first time over the weekend with the tent. They were recommended on here, I got them because the crew camping section for Womad last year was pretty rough ground. They worked v well, but I seem to have put a curve into one of them  >:(

I like to look of the Space 5, but it is 2 extra kg and loads more £. As you say, a lottery win!

The Laser Space 5 looks heavy, but you'd never carry it alone, as it's an ideal family tent, so you can split poles pegs and material between you.

We're currently very frustrated about the lack of lightweight vis-a-vis tents on the market.

A non-tent being tried out: an Exped Ergo hammock.

It's more comfortable than a tent, but because it doesn't warm up inside the same as my Akto I reckon it will end up heavier by the time you've allowed for extra clothing etc.

Spent yesterday making my £17, 800g, emergency tent more comfortable and amenable. very pleased with the result. The detail is on my blog, but this here is a pic.

Nothing left to prove. http://adenough1.blogspot.co.uk/
