Like two FNRttC back to back you say? With luggage?

That'll be like last weekend then. Sorted.

I've just got in from an easy 25 miles with no knee twinges, I'll see if I can do that again tomorrow but I'm feeling good so far.

A pity Roger didn't think to get some knee bandages in YACF colours, he'd have made a fortune !
A few blood splashes will soon sort that.

Thank gods, my new Hope Vision 1 light arrived today, am currently testing how long it will last on high setting with my Uniross 2700mAh batteries.

I'm going to wash my bike today since its a bit horse-crap splattered after club ride last night. I am a mixture of excited to be doing the Dun Run and thinking OMG what am I letting myself in for!  ;D

Should be aroudn 3 hours on full (although if the batteries are new they may need a few cycles to come up to full capacity).

I took several sets of spare batteries for my Hope last year, but in the end got round on one set only.  This was a result of mainly riding on power level 2, only really cranking it up when descending.

Thanks for the info oaky, it is the new battery issue that made me think I should test it, I have 3 brand new sets of batteries and can't decide if I should take 8 of them or all 12 with me. I do have one of those little bendy frog lights as backup incase I plunge into sudden darkness when Hope turns itself off  :)

Just ride alongside Kim on her bent.  That's what I did on the night ride to Cleethorpes... rather good lights, and as an added bonus, Kim also does a very good sideline in interesting nattering and being remarkably pleasant :)

Just out of curiosity, how fast is team speed likely to be.  Or more realistically, how leisurely will team slow be?

Team Slow's moving average is unlikely to exceed 10 mph. There will also be stops for brewing, cake etc.

Team slow - well I intend to join them as we're planning on hauling a trailer and camping gear all the way to Dunwich.

How many of us are lugging tents there?

I will be, although I'll be trying to get everything into a pair of panniers (and possibly bag strapped on top of the rack if necessary).  I'd like to fit the bar bag, but I've yet to find a reliable way to fit it and the lights (and I'm out of fettling time anyway).

10mph average sounds good to me.  That'll get us there around 8am-ish (assuming an 8pm-ish departure).

I'm trying to work out where the yacf posse met up last year.  Was it in the park near Martello Terrace?
Actually, it is rocket science.

Think so -- If you stood in the park looking at the pub we congregated just to the right of it.

That's what I recalled, but I can't find the pub in Google Streetview (but their coverage is a bit patchy around there).

I'm aiming for 16-17mph average.  I shall not be on the Brompton now - probably the 50s 3-speed racer again, if I can stop the rear mudguard squeaking.  Or the Hewitt, but it weighs a ton and Marathon Racers don't roll as well as they're meant to.

I just noticed they have now completely changed the weather forecast to potential rain but with a tail wind at the start of the ride  :o

I now have to be at work early on Monday so won't be camping.  >:(

I had considered riding a ridiculous bike again this year as it has a rack on it, but as I don't have to carry camping gear, I'll be on the fixie with decent lights instead.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Ah...the days when a fixie was considered a ridiculous bike.  Since the penny, a unicycle and the wobblebike, only a Brox or a Sinclair A-bike will cut it.
