If the thread title doesn't have the current location in it then we are relying on people being interested in the relay per se.

Where is the baton now, btw?
It is simpler than it looks.

Better than an inaccurate location, thobut.

Maybe, but not having any location is a good way of being a bit cliquey.
It is simpler than it looks.

Really jogler, have you no faith in me??
'Get the train' is short for 'pick it up on a training ride'  ;)

Seriously- Crinkles has it right- train out, ride back. It's about 45 miles to tom_e's neck of the woods.

actually I think I must have had a brainfart to think any differently to Crinkles & yourself :-[

I do try to keep the map updated with the location, tho

Re: YACF LEJoG Relay - currently near Cambridge
« Reply #807 on: 23 July, 2012, 09:07:46 pm »
It's a good point actually, I'm not sure where it is either.  Somewhere in the house.  Unless one of the kids took it outside.  :-\

45 miles each and exchange halfway should be doable in a weekday evening if the polite lady oab is willing.  I'm only back online briefly right now before being away again for the rest of this week, so organise laters.

Anybody else in Cambridge wants to see it before it moves on, shout before next week?

Reminds me of the C+ Cakestop jersey's travels.

Are you on it?

Me too.  Like it, I could take the baton to see Britannia ...

Or even (unlike the jersey) at the current rate of progress :demon: , on the fabled Embra trams ...
 ;)

Ok, so we didn't actually light that newspaper underneath.

Awkwardly posed handover piccy:

Decent ride out to meet up in Bottisham, tho' having taken most of the distance, boab may not be home till early hours.  I only went round a couple of housing estates in the dark trying to take an alternative route home.

Sorry, OD, we're off to forn parts on Saturday, back late Sun 12th.

I got back just before pumpkin-time for a solid night ride and the longest solo ride on 2 wheels for an Awfully Long Time.

Next- Calling Woofage? Morisette? Tim C? I suspect I may cheat and give it to Chris S.

That's fine.  We are off on holiday soon so hopefully it will still be around this region when we get back.

I have a week off beginning August 13th........am also planning to do Mildenhall.
Shame I missed the Bottisham moment, as that is only seven miles from my house!

Hi Morisette!
*waves*

I'll PM when we're back and arrange an assignation. You can be the Bearer of the Baton to Mildenhall.

Boab and I have a plan for another Baton Exchange - 7.30pm tomorrow in Barrow, Bury St Edmunds at the Three Horseshoes if anyone is in the area and would like to witness it!!!

Then hopefully I will take The Baton to Mildenhall on Saturday. All sounds like a good plan, doesn't it?!

Is there a way of recording summarising members of this parish who have had a hand in transferring this article from one end of the island to the other?

I passed it on to Mr Smith.

He looks thrilled to have it.
