this is rubbish. You've missed the important details:

- number of flapjakcs eaten
- number of p***tures
- valve cap colour
- finishing position
Has never ridden RAAM

I've hedged my bets and registered myself in on multiple rides of the same distance - that way if one goes totally awry I should (hopefully!) be able to pick myself up, learn from what happened and finish the alternative...

Guilty as charged

I have even planned my holidays in such a way that I can do a 300, a 400 and a 600 during that period on my holiday destination. I don't expect to need them but I prefer to have a back up plan.

Ah, but I have a cunning backup plan involving .......no hills whatsoever, although there may well be wind, lots of wind and only half an hour from home.

Poor Student - done
Hard Boiled - bonkers
Severn Across - only done in PBP years
Kernow & SW - so PBP will seem like a doddle
Insufficient Brownie Points for backup so if I fail will rise the Maniac Grimpeur or Cambrian 10A in August

200km x 6 (2 done / 2 DNF / 2 to do.
300km x2 (Skeggy and Green & Yellow fields)
400km x 4 (Moors & Wolds, Snowdon & Coast, LLanfair and Spurn Head)
600km x 2 (9 counties and The Buzzard)

It looks like I shall have to ride the Buzzard in order to collect the cards at the finish: there's a very tight deadline for the very last qualifiers.

This time 4 years ago we'd not ridden a single brevet, and ended up doing the last possible 600 qualifier (in Holland), so nice to have them all done and dusted early this time round.

200A Mere 20025th Jan
300Plains 30018th April
400Heartbeat 40025th April
600Pendle 60013th June

The Pendle might be a tad ambitious as a qualifier but it's  a ride I want to do plus the 3 coasts is the weekend after and the start is only a fifteen minute ride away so I have a back up if it all goes nipples up .

Feeling a bit battered after yesterday's 200, so having a few doubts about The Dean next week. I'm relying on selective amnesia to set in during the week to get me to the start line.

I'm on the 7.30 start, if you are on the 6am start you'd better keep well ahead of me as I'm bringing a gaggle of rampant old ladies with me, all equipped with a photo of you for identification purposes.
