« on: 01 March, 2015, 05:11:05 am »
Up early today due to a very insistent curry I had last night!

Hope Steve gets similar tail winds .... Already 3 miles down at 5am!   Big one planned?

It is windy today. He is riding into the wind at the moment and the winds will be predominantly from the west all day.

Set a fire for a man and he will be warm for a day, set a man on fire and he is warm for the rest of his life.

Nice weather site, very useful  Looks as if fresh / strong westerlies thro` to Thursday at least and quite cold. After a spring like day here yesterday, up to 11c and sunny, a big wake up call this am @ 4c and windy.

March is coming in like a lion ---maybe out like a lamb then  ???

He has resisted the Lure of the Gibbon thus far but it could still be on for the homeward leg.

I don't know how the weather is down south, but Jan and I had a real battle with a loaded tandem and a vicious cross-wind on the way into Berwick.

and given what weather is currently on its way (cold, heavy rain, windy) maybe several loops around home / Gibbonshire !

I hope Steve avoids the weather I currently have in Berks, Thunder and Lightening, with the accompanying rain. Went from dank and dingy to I'm glad I not out in that very quickly.

Just been driven in from the garden.  Rained so hard that our drainpipes couldn't cope.  But only for 5 - 10 minutes.  Back to normal rain now.

From the met office weather radar

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/observation/map/#?map=Rainfall&fcTime=1425186000&zoom=5&lon=-4.00&lat=55.01

looks like it has cleared Buckinghamshire.

Good of Steve to enter into the spirit of Gibbonism, brilliant; especially with all the other things on his mind, unless it brings some light relief.

Where is he heading to tonight? Not checked the calender today.

He is certainly aware of the Gibbon thing. He had a mischievous glint in his eye when he stayed with us after a Double Gibbon.

This also in NE Londonton.  I've had to turn up the volume on the distascope coz of the noise of the rain :o

Just to echo what others have said - the weather's just been effin' awful here at times today. And when I say effin' awful that's no understatement.

Go, Steve!   But stay safe...

Early speculation but I wonder if a triple gibbon is in the offing, with an approach from Poundon proving that all roads lead to MG

Oh. looks like it might be another early day. Is something wrong? Weather in that area, health? Heres hoping it's nothing serious.

The weather seems to have been spectacularly shite all teh way down the east coast of England today. We rode from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Southend, so we know. OK, about 98% of that ride was in trains, but we were still watching the weather being shite.
