The ACH page is now showing our man back at the Bowl.  Looks like there may have been. Sausage Break on the way.  Or something.

Maybe he had to stop to be fitted with a beard and a bobble hat.  I understand they are mandatory for those machines.

The tracker doesn't show show the track near Steve's house. It would take him 20/30 minutes cranking it along the redways to get to the bowl. There's some hills/underpasses along the way.

You'll notice that by going around the bowl anti-clockwise, his pedalling leg doesn't have to go quite as far as the rest of him. #marginalGains.

Having minutely traveled less far and less quickly, it will now be younger than his right leg.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

He was going great this afternoon. He was mixing it with youth training on the track, very impressed how everyone kept out of each others way. Steve does seem to appreciate a bit of a cheer, so if you can get to the bowl, it will help ;-)

Well, about 1.30pm today [Saturday] I thought I'd take a ride out to clear a beer-embued head get some fresh air, and so why not a quick trip to MK to see the TG.
So, arriving around 4.30pm ish at the Bowl I see a bloke on a trike at Gate 1, 'Hey Steve, how you doing?" and he looked round....and yeah, like...who are you? So...ok, I can't honestly put TG as somebody I've ever really known, so it's hardly instant recognition
"Stay there, and I'll come round, I'll leaving here now anyway"
So I wait a while, and a guy turns up with a car and a trailer, "Waiting for Steve"?
"Well, you know, just turned up to see who's about"
So Steve then shows up and the man in question is Dick, president of North Bucks Road Cycling club.
And so they talk for a while....

http://s586.photobucket.com/user/vindaloo59/media/100_1950.jpg.html?o=6

about the size of thighs etc but TG clearly has respect for Dick, and they talk easily.

http://s586.photobucket.com/user/vindaloo59/media/100_1948.jpg.html?o=8
http://s586.photobucket.com/user/vindaloo59/media/100_1946.jpg.html?o=10
http://s586.photobucket.com/user/vindaloo59/media/100_1949.jpg.html?o=7

Dick has obviously had a lot to do with Steve getting access to the Bowl etc...he has his own key. It's not a circuit open to the public all the time. I had wondered about that when I was cycling over.

There was much empathy in their exchanges.

So then Dick left and Steve had intentions to make his way to an eating establishment, so, not being a future host [not in my place] I offered to buy him some grub.

Is that a trip to KFC? :)

Wait and see. :)

So we cycled for about 1-2 miles on the Redways, and I tried to operate my very old Kodak digi camera.
There are two short sequences here, but the quality is not great, and I could barely remember how to work the thing. He really likes the trike though, and reckons he'll be up to about a 100 miles a day by the end of the week. The second video is more stable than the first. But you get the picture.

Where the second clip ends is where we dined for the afternoon - directly next to the MKDons stadium, who were playing at the time.

Is that a trip to KFC? :)

Yep.
It may have even been my first ever visit. May also be my last. [Sorry, those things are not chips].

TG is well aware of the reputation he has for KFC, but feels it's a bit unfair.
"This is the first time I've been in here for weeks, I go to plenty of other places, but people don't seem to mention those, it's always KFC they remember".

I bought Steve a "bucket" of ten chicken pieces. Here he is loading the remainder into his rack pack for a picnic tomorrow.

http://s586.photobucket.com/user/vindaloo59/media/100_1958.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0

He's hoping to get two feet on the trike soon [with Doctors consent], without putting any pressure on the broken ankle, just letting it rotate with the cranks.
"I think this is healing faster than they expected"

He's not rushing things, but clearly has plans and intentions, make no mistake.

+1. Thanks from me too, VB.

I was half thinking that the ICE would be good for re-training the right leg once he's allowed to shove with it.  The ICE folk have done a nice job, too.

I'm impressed by how smooth his pedalling is.

(From the tracker, it was either KFC or The Scottish Restaurant, and I think KFC wins that one.)

I hadn't seen Kim's post before the video and I also noticed the smooth pedalling. Go Steve!  Major respect.
