Steve relaunches his new World Record Attempt next month (August 2015) and needs some help from his support volunteers. Please let us know if you are able to assist Steve in a role as a voluntary support vehicle driver between 16 and 20 August 2015 - in France.
Steve's first major undertaking in his new record attempt will be to complete the 750-mile Paris Brest Paris (PBP 2015) ride from 16-20 August 2015. Steve will ride to Paris from Milton Keynes in order to ride in this mass participation long distance cycling event, which he will start on the night of Sunday 16 August.
He has asked for a support vehicle to be available for him to use along the PBP course, where he can charge some of his electronic equipment, sleep and upload his GPS information each night.
We will hire an appropriate vehicle for this purpose and the support driver(s) will be required to drive this vehicle (which may be a van, motorhome or estate car) from the UK to France. All expenses for volunteers in this role will be covered and the role will not be particularly demanding for those involved.
The main requirement of this support role is to take the vehicle to designated meeting areas along the PBP 2015 route for when Steve needs to access the vehicle.
This is a role which can be fulfilled by a single individual, or a group of people, so please let us know in your response whether or not you prefer to help in your individual capacity, or as part of a group. Also let us know if you have a suggested group of volunteers (your friends or family, for example) or if you are okay to team up with volunteers who are not currently your acquaintences.
If you would like to volunteer to help Steve in this capacity - or if you would like to ask a few more questions in relation to this role, please e-mail roger.cortis@gmail.com, and include details of any PBP experience and a phone number ( landline is best ) so that Roger can contact you
