My provider, Smarty, have just notified me that they will soon be turning off 3G and that my phone may no longer be compatible, as it needs 4G VoLTE or 5G
Phone is Moto G7 Power. In the settings it I have 4G/3G/2G selected, but can find no option for VoLTE
The phone is running Android 10
a Google search of 4G and 4G VoLTE has made me none the wiser as to whether there is a difference between 4G and 4G VoLTE
In short, do I need to upgrade my phone?

Does your phone not display which it is using atm? If it offers 4G as an option I would think that you should be fine.

4G is a data connection. VoLTE is voice over LTE, ie for making phone calls. So that might not be supported.
Try setting your phone to 4G only, then see if you can make a call?
In short, do I need to upgrade my phone?
Or change networks? Most networks are switching off 3G soon, but EE/Vodafone/O2 still have 2G for phone calls.

A quick Google suugests on Android phones you shouild be able to see if it's compatible. "go into the Settings app, tap Network, and then tap Call to see whether it is listed as a feature". As your phone appears to be only 5 yrs old it should be ok.
