Embedding links in YACF

[I'm not sure where to put this ....]

I can't seem to embed You Tube links within text using the hyperlink symbol. What appears when I follow what I understand to be the correct procedure, is a large window link to You Tube.

Like this:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/XrFlbt6GW5I&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/XrFlbt6GW5I&rel=1</a>

I've just had a similar thing happen with a vimeo link referencing Graham Obree's hpv bike in the 'Dark Side' section of the forum.

As opposed to this

Is it something that pertains to the video format? It's kind of annoying. I'd rather not clutter up threads with You Tube windows.
Am I doing anything wrong?

I enjoy embedded videos, but when you don't want that...

On the YouTube page, click Share, then copy the highlighted short link to the clipboard to paste here.
