I had some of this in Mumbai. Was taken there by a local businessman after dinner. Stopped by a Paan seller with a stall in the street and he made up some parcels.
I am not sure what went into it but I was hiccupping and spitting for the next half hour. After that I felt quite good. I don't see this stuff in the Uk so is it legal?

Aye it is. It's usually a mix of beetlenut, tobacco, and chuun which I dunno what's in that but it tends to burn my tongue. Actually was it sweet, nutty or smokey?

I had a sweet one - not much to it. And a tobacco one I think - that burnt like hell and even worse as I swallowed some of it. Yuch.
I was very ill later but I think that was to do with the food.

I don't actually know what the bits for the sweet one is called but they usually are small and red, sometimes even with coconut. If you want some, any asian area should sell it.
