Does this mean Boris Bikes will now be known as Velocipoods?

How about restoring them to their proper name? - Red Ken Bikes.

I was happy enough to call the Barclays Bikes in preference to Boris Bikes, but tried to stick to Hire Bikes when I could: Santander Cycles just doesn't flow for me, and I never found Ken Bikes worked either.

Red Bikes might stick (never, ever heard Red Ken Bikes).

I doubt that "Boris Bike" is going to go away.  Indeed, I hope that it outlives the memory of the man himself as per 'Belisha Beacon'.

I'll call them "[London] hire bikes" in a formal situation, in keeping with the traditional BRITISH manner of causally erasing commercial sponsorship on general principle.

The Red Bikes look wrong.
It is simpler than it looks.

The nutter who rode a Boris Bike up Mont Ventoux has set an hour record on a Boris Bike  ;D

31.29km around Herne Hill velodrome.
