Anybody know?  The Garmin site is keeping mum on the subject.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

I believe they are, but I've never actually tried it.

The eTrex 20 ships with birdseye sample data on it, so I assume so.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

Ta, but: "We are unable to show you compatible devices at this time. Please try again later."  Same as here.

However, I RTFMed and actually found a mention of them.  I hadn't expected a Garmin manual to actually contain anything of interest.

Millet's are currently selling the Etrex20 <<With Free Birdseye Select Mapping Voucher>>
http://www.milletsports.co.uk/more-sports/outdoor/gps-and-watches/garmin-etrex-20/

which suggests they are compatible!

The price is good, too. Would this be a good buy now, or should I consider the Etrex30? (excuse slight thread hi-jack!).

BMG.  I believe that the only 20 - 20x difference is the screen res.  But the diff between 20 & 30 is considerable - ANT+ coms with heart, temperature & cadence pickups (not included, though) and my 30x came with Topoactive w. Europe re-installed. I'd get the 30x if I were you.

eTrex 20x also comes with Western Europe Topo maps. Same as 30x.
Just bought a 20x.

Thanks. Not really sure how useful/interesting the extra functions would be to me, but if that means that the 30x will record HR direct from my existing HR belt (no intermediary device required), and will upload the data to my Mac or PC, I might be tempted.
