Yep. The route follows (mostly) the Via Augusta cycling route. Minor roads and (gravel) cycle paths in Germany, two benign mountain passes, the Fernpass and Reschenpass, to cross the alps and then it's mostly flat cycle paths to Ferrara.
There's four controls with food, three manned by Witoor staff or friend/volunteers, the other (on top of the Reschenpass) a pizzeria where you get half a pizza and some drinks for free. I acquired a taste for fried pig's ear at the last control
I brought a bivvy, but Bozen/Bolzano is half way and you can either use the Hotel that Witoor has on offer (I believe it was ~ 60 euro two years ago) or find something on your own.
Good memories on this one, despite the fact that afterwards I got an unplanned overnighter at Bologna airport due to the fact that my (boxed) bike didn't fit through the scanner and I only found out at the gate... That scanner btw allows a maximum size of 100x60cm btw, and security will
not do a manual check!
