Companion to the fords thread:

Probably one of the least reassuring concrete'n'steel bridges I've used in this country.  With bonus COR on the far side.

Today's weather was not conducive to photographing bridges from the top of the Gateway Arch in St Louis:

It's even got the "Greatest Generation" (with explanatory note, implying even in Usania the term isn't that widely known).

Old Bridges.

(Yes, I was wearing my cycle helmet.)

Shiny New Bridge

I don't think there is much mystery about why they built the Shiny New Bridge.

The 1872 grade II listed Cawood Swing Bridge, taken on my ride yesterday:

Does it still swing?  It's hard to believe but it is possible.

"In late December 2015, heavy rainfall led to flooding across large parts of northern England and Wales. The Ouse at Cawood flowed over the deck of the bridge."

Kent Viaduct without the lens to do it justice.  (A real camera was contraindicated on account of comedy off-roading.)

Bridges of the 2023 Tour de France:

Portugalete N of Bilbao; oldest transporter bridge in the World and the first on my Camino del Norte this year? must have been a neutralised section?

They didn't cross it; it was just in the background.  Home town of J Castroviejo though.
