Rajasthan's a bit too dry and flat to have many decent bridges. You've seen one, you've seen 'em all.

...except for Udaipur, where the bridges are rather pleasant.

A bridge somewhere on the Rea Valley between Bournville and central Birmingham.  Sadly, it seems to be struggling with what is now asked of it.

Getting there...

That'll be this one.

I've just realised how few times I've been down that way in daylight.

It's a bridge in Penge.

This is another bridge in Penge with far greater political and culinary significance!

Am I the only person who went via Ironbridge on my LEJOG (just to see it because I hadn't been there before [1])

No.  And anyway, there aren't all that many better ones :)

Woodgate Valley Country Park  (which we decided links Mordor to The Shire[1])

The Pooh Sticks is disappointing, and the gaps between the concrete knobbles on the approach to the ford prevent anything from happening, but we found a bridge and took a picture for the thread anyway.

There are loads of really good stepping stones nearby, though.

Some bridges from the Himalayan railway from Shimla to Kalka. There are about 888 bridges on this 97-km length of track.  I may have missed one or two.

Dean, those are great!  Is that your sister (not the monkey)?  I liked the video and am relieved you didn't get your head taken off by that tunnel!  You're going to struggle with Darlo, aren't you?  No hurry, mind!

OT  are we supposed to call you Dyno, now?

I was a bit nervous about those tunnels, but there's more clearance than there appears. I still wouldn't have sat in the doorway with my feet sticking out the way some did.

That is my sister, there are more of her on the Jaipur group.

I'm curious as to what those 5-lamp traffic lights are at the bridge - what are the 'extra' lights for? I presume they flash to warn that the bridge is rising - but then why the standard three? Or perhaps the whole lot is different?
No idea. I'll just have to got back and find out.

Sounds like a job for google streetview?

Not (yet) in Belgium.

Streetview now available in Belgium

... which must mean that you can turn left (Loise Mariekaai) or right (Bourgondestraat) along the bank of the Schelde but not go straight on along the N453, obviously.

I imagine the other two lights are amber and green (none of the lights are showing on the other side when the bridge is down). But I'll be back there in July just to check.

The steetview car jumped the queue, which is why it's on the LHS of the road.

By the way, the Tour of Flanders will be crossing this bridge on Sunday before they start the 3 finishing loops.

I go over that most days.

I think it's unique in that all five arches are different widths.

Keep meaning to put up a set of all the bridges between Chester and the sea.
