On the way out to Tesco's today, car passing in opposite direction.

"Nice tits!"

Somewhat bemused by that one, but, well, I'm happy with them...

Blue ones? 'tis the season for them.  :P

I had a strange one last night as I left work.  There is a gang o'lads who use the long driveway at this former hospital for practicing wheelies and generally pratting about on bikes and having fun :o  *clutches pearls* WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN etc...

Any way, last night, they were just coming up the road as I left.  As they streamed past on their BMXs and MTBs, and I rode the other way on my folder, one lad called out 'Bikelife!' and smiled.

I'm guessing that's a reference to www.bikelife.tv, as referenced in the Bike Stormz thread.

Kids, messing about, having fun ...

Seems to be pretty much what the Bikelife stuff is about.

Don't forget "No skateboarding", for the hat-trick.

Reverse of oiks shouting at cyclists, but . . .

Crossing a bridge over the K&A canal, my way was partially blocked by a group of young men at the other end. Oblivious to my frighteningly green low rider recumbent they remained close together, staring at the screens of their phone cameras as they pointed them this way and that. As I slipped past a couple of the, finally noticed me, assuming startled expressions. "Ah, but you should see what I evolve into!" I said, and went on my way to a chorus of embarrassed laughter.

Youth upon spotting and recognising me in the van as he was crossing the road. He slowed down and started to imitate someone riding a bicycle. He tried his best to make it look like he was on a recumbent. Though struggled a bit with how to show that the legs are up and hands are down. While shouting - "I'm you on riding your bicycle".

Staying with railways, the bloke pushing the snack trolley on the Leicester to Mordor train this Monday said to me, "I like your spots." No, he wasn't admiring my acne; I was wearing a (YACF) KotM jersey. He then proceeded to make complimentary remarks about the tan lines on my legs.  8) :o :P

On the same train there was a bloke walking up and down the gangway, cleaning his teeth – dressed in a pair of very muddy shorts (but his tan did not attract admiring comments) and a black and orange striped shirt, complete with tiger-hood and long, fluffy tail, down to the floor. Never again need you feel self-conscious about sweaty lycra in a public place.

"Wowbagger!"

??? ? In Trinity Road, Southend?

No, it was no-one OTP but a former chess pupil, and a pretty decent player, whose name is Rhys Lloyd (although he may have spelt it differently), probably in his late 20s now, and he was sitting by the side of the road with an inverted bike. I was completely intrigued concerning how he knew my forum name, having completely forgotten that when he was of primary school age I introduced him and others to the joys of online chess, using FICS (Free Internet Chess Server) where my name was Wowbagger. We nattered for a while before I pottered off.

Last week, as we did a Tour de Kent, from local youth near Canterbury: 'do a wheelie!' which I duly did.

Magnificently all the way down the street.

Of course, I had to have a little rest around the corner as my spine realigned itself. Ouch.

It was an oddity so far as I am concerned. It had quite large wheels with lots of spokes and fat tyres. It had a very small chain ring and a minuscule sprocket. A solitary brake lever led to the rear wheel, which was equipped with a freewheel. Everything was in stealth black.

Rhys told me that he had just built it and was having teething troubles. I think the rear tyre was rubbing on the frame. It was supposed to be a "jump bike" but I have to say that I don't really know what that is (*googles*). Ah. I see.

A personal favourite of mine was whilst rolling past an enormously fat bloke balanced on a moped -

I believe so. Though not half as impressed as I was. Nothing about my commutified BSO is light. It's made from a super-dense transuranic element that science has yet to discover.

That's quite possible, I once dropped a SparcStation monitor and I think it's still en route to the core of the Earth. I should have probably undertaken my adventure on one of the lighter bicycles, but then I remembered it's part of the NCN, so at some point I'd need something with more substance than Abrams main battle tank.

I should write up my adventure. There must be some place herein where such two-wheeled travelogues are recorded. The wonder of sun-broiled adventures along the Kentish coast. It's a bit crap admittedly compared to the round-the-world epics so maybe better I don't. Episode 26: Lost in Sittingbourne.
