I decided not to go in the end, in spite of already being in Birmingham.  Lurgy has rendered me voiceless and somewhat deaf in one ear, which doesn't bode well for socialising, and there's the possibility that I might still be infectious.

None of the votes were close — certainly not close enough for a few votes mislaid to have made any difference.  A little over 500 members voted in all, fewer than ten voted in the meeting itself.

I'm not sure you would have been unless those people told you directly.  I had one proxy but I don't know who trusted me with their vote, but I can assure you I used that power wisely.

Now I'm no longer the MemSec, and the weather isn't good enough for the bike, so I'm doing some household chores.
