Cheapest Garmin Edge 800 Performance Bundle deal I've ever seen
« on: 28 December, 2013, 09:07:13 am »
Just noticed this yesterday - Garmin Edge 800 Performance bundle (includes the HR and cadence monitors) for just £209

http://amzn.to/19Psoeq

Annoying that it's just after Christmas and most people are feeling skint, but if you can take advantage of this, I hope it helps someone out

My Edge 705 died yesterday, so I've been forced to buy one. Diddums.

Edge 500 is currently under £90, too.

Now showing as £268 but if you use this link you'll still see the £209 option, but there's a 2-4 week wait.

Dammit, I wish I'd seen this thread sooner... No longer available at £209 but £268 is still a good price for the bundle...

It's made it harder to decide whether to go for the 800 for the price, or the 510/810 for the wireless connectivity...

If it helps, Citoyen, those of my acquaintance who've bought the 510/810 have used the phone connectivity once or twice out of interest, and subsequently not bothered. There may be updates down the line which might make the feature more useful, but as it currently stands it's little more than a gimmick.

Thanks, TimC, that's worth knowing.

I suppose it depends on your personal circumstances though - I spend a lot of otherwise "dead" time on trains that could be put to good use uploading rides, rather than waiting until I get home when I'd rather not be sat at the computer anyway...

This looks like a pretty good price for a 510:

Now I just need to weigh up whether the 510's connectivity beats the 800's superior navigation options... [edit: sod it, I've given in to impulse and ordered a 510]
