Hayfever causing double vision
« on: 29 July, 2012, 06:45:59 pm »
I had a big reaction to something on a night ride yesterday, with my left eye swelling up and mattering everywhere to the extent that the only way I could relieve the stinging pain was to close both eyes and put pressure on the left one. Even now, although the pain has gone I have double-vision in my left eye and the eye itself is very pink.

The left eye going is similar to other hayfever symptoms I've had (I also got a very runny nose and cetrizine in high amounts seems to have calmed it), but this is the worst I've ever suffered and normally I can sleep off the bad eyesight, meaning today's double-vision is worrying me.

Has anyone experienced  anything like this?

I wonder if the swelling is causing pressure on the eyeball, limiting its usual movements and so causing double vision.
I would not be too concerned unless the double vision persists after all the swelling has gone.
If you get pain again, see a doctor.
