Is anyone else giving out books for World Book Night?
It's a "get people reading" initiative from the publishers/authors/printers/papermakers ... about 20,000 volunteers are each giving away 20 special edition books - from a range of about 20 well-know authors.
I'm giving away copies of Alexander McCall Smith's "No 1 Ladies Detective Agency" in Stratford-upon-Avon - probably near the theatre, this evening ... the project is really aimed at the, apparently, massive number of people that do not possess a single book ... probably not many of them in SuA, but nevertheless an interesting and valid initiative.
