Toplight Flat Plus; overvoltage protection?
« on: 17 April, 2018, 12:06:41 pm »
In previous threads it has been established that some B&M rear lights have 'temporary' overvoltage protection (in case the front light blows) and others have protection that may be good enough to allow rear light only running.

One can find out which is which by reading the instructions for current models (where available) but does anyone know what system the 'Toplight flat plus' has?  This is a model that preceded others such as the 'line plus' model. Even though it is still a current model, I can't seem to find the instructions anywhere, not in paper form or on t'interweb.

On a related point should we start a list of which lights have which form of protection?

cheers

Can't one just add one's own heavy duty back-to-back zener clamp (or reflectalite XGen5) in parallel with the lamp?

The manual listings only seem to exist on the German site, and I guessed the English URL.
