Helvellyn Route

I like the idea of going up Helvellyn on a bike, but would have to be the easiest posible route. I was considering going from the Coach Road north of Clough Head then up the valley to Calfhow Pike and on to Great Dodd. Then along the ridge to Helvellyn. Then return back the same way, don't fancy dropping into Glenridding or Patterdale.

I am sure this route will take a lot of effort but is it a reasonable?

After looking across the web, bogginess appears to be the biggest factor.

Thanks

I hear boggy across the Dodds/Matterdale Common, but it's rocky and a bit hike-a-bike over Lower Man, White Side, and Raise.

We went up from Helvellyn YHA via Sticks Pass, and back down via the sanitised path to Glenridding. Next time, I'd do it the other way. Or go up via Dockwray, Old Coach Road and the Dodds, and down via Sticks Pass, but it all depends on where you're starting from (we were staying in the YHA).
