Steri strips
« on: 09 November, 2011, 02:18:35 pm »
As a result of Monday night's encounter with a car on a roundabout, I have a cut on my forehead and around my eye. The forehead has three stitches in it and one steristrip over it. The outside corner of the eye has a steristrip on it.

Stitches are coming out 17/11/11. When can I remove the steristrips? The one by the eye is v. annoying.

You'll probly find the steristrips will work their own way off.  Leave them alone if you can.

Did they tell you to dab vaseline on the stitches?

Skin round the eye heals very fast but Steri-strips are best left alone for up to 5 days.
Iffn one is annoying you, I'd suggest you buy some replacements, ease off the blighter with care, wash and dry your face and reapply Steristrip well enough to keep wound edges nice and close together.
Don't tell anyone I suggested this; it's more than me non-job's worth...
