That reference is lost on me, I must be too old! I didn’t even know she’d been in Dr Who.

Jacqueline Pearce was Miss Pendragon in the Russell T Davies- creation Dark Season, a 1991 sci-fi adventure series co-starring a teenage Kate Winslett.

This series coincided with my commencement of teaching. My dear wife, two colleagues and I always made Monday night Chinese Takeaway and Blake’s 7 night.

Thus I know who she was.

I understand her character in Blake's 7 was compared to Mrs Thatcher. Perhaps even modelled on her?
