Replacing a specialised headbearing and have seen mentioned bearings are a different depths. Is this a different standard or just different bearing codes.

Can’t help with your specific query but I can say that when I replaced bearings in the bottom bracket and wheel hub, I removed the bearings and measured them with a vernier callipers then looked online for identically sized bearings. The code numbers were sometimes the same, sometimes similar and sometimes completely different. I went by the size rather than the numbers.

The issue is that the the headset is the proprietry specialised one. Then the issue with an aftermarket fork so need a deeper bearing than the usual 6.5mm. Have no idea which intergrated headset is fitted, bought the planet x selcof replacement bearings but there is no marking on the sides of the bearing of depth.

Thought I'd ask here, after seeing that there. Here seems to have more knwledgeable people.

A set of verniers and a bit of guesswork for the angles (pick between 36 and 45 degree) should identify what you have.
This place lists an extensive range of cartridge headset bearings with full details of sizing, and their search by dimensions options works very well:

This doesn't help me as the current bearings set up don't match up well with the replacement forks fitted.

If you follow the link kindly supplied and filter to 41.8mm OD (IS42) you’ll see there are some bearings with 8mm depth.
