1st-gen iPod Nano recall
« on: 03 March, 2012, 01:32:08 am »
Apple are replacing first generation iPod nanos as they have a fault that can cause FIERY DETH.

According to Google this is not very fresh news, but it was new  to me and they're replacing them with current models (6th-gen! with a touchscreen and everything) so it's worth doing.

This is a bit of old news but worth repeating, some people report getting refurbed 1G's but with safe new batteries, and I guess anything newer than a 1G is still a 'win' as they are free, but as I got a nice new shiny 6G Nano I'm well chuffed - nice it having FM radio too!

If you are on an old version of osx you might get incompatibility problems with a new nano. Worth checking.
It is simpler than it looks.

Damn, the only first generation iPod I've got is a shuffle.  Probably not big enough to have a battery capable of fiery anything much!
Actually, it is rocket science.
