well I'm in, will be interesting to see how it develops.
Quite fancy trying for a ton of tons, two a week how hard can it be :P
-
I've joined the group on Strava, at least that's a start. Not sure about a ton of tons but 20 would be a great achievement for me. We'll see how it goes.
-
Set my PB this year with 25 century rides, but that doesn't count a few that were longer.
-
Currently tally is 29 imperial century rides in 2015, with 2 further 200km DIYs scheduled (24 & 27 Dec). Thank goodness Audax is non-competitive.
-
22 here, one more 200 DIY scheduled for the winter solstice weekend
-
I have managed 32 tons this year. It would have been more but for the really crap weather we have had the past couple of months.
-
I am in but suspect I will be in the low numbers due to lack of time.
-
I've been thinking about a ton of metric tons in 2016, though I'll likely sign up for this too
I suspect time with the young family will make 20 metric tons hard enough :)
-
Currently on 81 metric tons (should that be tonnes?) for 2015 so likely to finish somewhere between 83 & 85. Around July time I had hopes of maybe reaching 100, but sadly it just wasn't compatible with the twin goals of avoiding both a P45 and the divorce courts. Now, if I was to win the lottery this weekend ...
-
154 members of the club so far, we even have a Godwin ;D
Its going to be fun watching the rides start on Jan 1st
-
Target to beat, 111 Imperial Centuries from 2015. I got my 2016 first today - it should be easy :-)
-
Number 1 done. So long as numbers 2 and onwards are easier than that, everything will be just fine.
-
I generally believe in leading by example; ::-)
We are off and running; 3 days down and myself and Steve Abraham have bagged 4 a piece with 5 other riders including the year book Author Citizenfish suffering in the wet for 2 each.
Now we let the "pro" everyday riders Steve and Kajsa take over while us workers go for the employed class ;D
4 centuries :- Steve A, Jack P.
2 :- Paul B, Kajsa T, Steve G, Phil C, Dave B.
23 other riders also hit their first one for 2016.
-
I have "only" done the one century on NYD
The weather was so bad than I was in a poor state the following day, wouldn't have wanted to do another one. And anyway, I had to clear out the garage to make room for a car with a leaking window
Next attempt will have to wait until we have some slight improvement to the gale force winds and rain
-
added spice, get together with 2 others and form a three man team (if in the Strava YCC group)
Totals for all 3 riders are added together over the year.
No choosing teethgrinder, he is classed as a 1 man Pro team ;D
5 teams in already, could we get a YACF team, do you know others on there?
Bristol Audax have a good team in.
Can a team of 3 beat teethgrinder's total for the year.
-
Just added the Poor Student 200k to Strava from 02/01 so I'm on a massive 2 centuries.

Just checking - you can do multiple rides in one calendar day to still qualify for a century yes? Im only really competing against myself here but noticed my third century of the year from yesterday hadn't been counted yet? It was in 4 separate rides (https://www.strava.com/activities/541298282)

Yes, that's within the rules. The YCC Admin is following you on Strava, but if they miss your split rides just give them a nudge with a tweet or other msg.

After rides before breakfast, at lunch then late evening I added #11 yesterday. The whole year has not gone to plan, but I should still hit 20...
-
I'm on 11 but there are 3 not logged as my gps recorder went wrong a couple of times
None for August. Lost my motivation after packing on the Mille Pennines and I've had a lot of time "on call"
Hope to fit in something next month though, maybe a 400 ( = 2 centuries )

300k DIY Audax just submitted for the weekend - it's a bit over distance and I'm hoping to get YCC rides 13 & 14 out of it...
Planning to ride 100miles before midnight (control at a 24hrs McD's), then 100miles after midnight - not my best plan, but should be OK as long as I time it correctly...
-
With just over 2 weeks left, I have 18 on the clock - I have plans for a ton ride this Sunday, and an AUK200 on the 29th, as long as they both come off I'll make the planned to fit 20tons in 2016, This year has seen my lowest distance since 2008, it's been hard work to fit these in!
-
Well done DR, I stayed on cycle paths to get a foggy #19, just need weather to be ok on the 29th & I'll reach 20 too :)
-
Only just discovered the YCC. Totted up my centuries for the year and I have done 19! Not sure I will have time to squeeze another in for the certificate, but will definitely be doing this challenge in 2017
-
31 this year including 1 double.
-
35 done and 1 to go.
-
13. Much lower than last two years when I did more than 20. Circumstances. Will do better next year.
-
At least 21 this year (including a couple of doubles) but would have got closer to 30, except for a broken bone that kept me off the bike between August and December.
Since getting back on the bike, I've not been able to get beyond 4 hours. Hopefully I'll be able to rack up my distances soon. It has been a long time between drinks!
-
Need to upload it still, but 101miles today gets me to 20 for the year:)
Had to bail my planned 200k for RRTY, but could safely complete a slow ton instead
-
I've been hors de combat since an op in early November but had completed 29 by then (down from 31 in 2015 but that was a full year). Hope to be back riding properly by mid-Jan, and determined to get back on the RRtY trail in the last day or two of the month.
-
I haven't enjoyed any cycling since about the start of September.
As such, my 42 weren't likely to increase.
I doubt I'll play next year.
Part of me is toying with Serious Time Out.

It is very possible to burn out, particularly if there isn't enough variation in your cycling. DAMHIKT
