BMX World championship

I’ve just been watching this on the TV and I’d just like to say that grownups look immensely silly on BMXs. The results look to be at least equal part pure lottery, though I don’t doubt their athleticism.
For every complex problem in the world, there is a simple and easily understood solution that’s wrong.

Agreed.  The athleticism is required to get to the first corner in the lead.  After that you will be on your own because everyone else will have come off!

Been a long time since I have ridden BMX, but I used to ride loads in the early and mid 90s. Hung around where some of the WC riders over for the worlds in 96 practised.  Watching them ride for fun at Golding Barn where DMR (half of Mason) started was amazing - their trail riding was balletic. The delicacy of their bike control was nothing like the freestyle / trail riding I was a fan.
