I wish I were capable.  But that's a different thing.
Getting there...

From their website it sounds like "Anything goes" as far as what bikes are allowed.

FWIW I have registered, in the Novice class, natch :)

Might be interesting to see where the lines are drawn, if indeed they are ;)

The only drawbacks I can see are a) I'm not entirely sure whether I'm actually free that day and b) riding in big groups makes me really, really nervous, largely as the result of an incident on a club ride longer ago than I care to remember in which I came down in a bunch, whilst riding fixed. I was a bit of a mess ...

Pity there isn't a 'Fat Bastard' class ...

I love the idea of 'urban cyclocross', though.

I am tempted to do a 'campus cross' around our Uni campus as a winter event. COuld be a lot of fun to organise. I could even arrange for a beer tent outside the Union through which the race would go :)

Now there is a good idea, have a series, a different uni for each event.  Some I know would work well, some not so.

Tell me more. All things are possible. I'm trying to find a few local crossers to double check route plans.

I wasn't being serious, I'm afraid.  I'll be out of here as soon as the thesis is written (and guess what I'm doing online at 10pm).
