And yet they keep riding just like in Denmark. But here with less snow we are snowed in and come to a stand still.

More heavy snow overnight in Norfolk. Probably 20cm on the grass now. Looks ver perty on the trees.

Our electricity went off at 1.05 p.m. yesterday. It's just returned.

We've had 19 hours in the 1950s - no central heating and we have no other heating in this house. The gas rings worked so we could cook and drink tea and we have a jump pack and inverter, which powered a 60w equivalent low-energy bulb for about 7 hours. Quite impressed with that.

We read until 10.30 p.m. when the jump pack ran out, so we went to bed then.

The snow in the video looks like a pretty light dusting to me.  Less than 2cm, certainly.  While it's true that any snow seems to cause a certain amount of disruption in southern England, on this occasion  many areas have had quite a bit more than that.

Not much yet up here in the southern Pennines; less than 1/2" thus far.

We are forecast a few inches this evening, though.
Looking out, there have been a few preliminary flurries but nothing of significance is due until after dark, we are told....

We're forecast to get it bigtime on Monday, which is also the day I really have to be in the office to run around the building like a headless chicken and get something signed off (which should have been done months ago, but we had it dropped on us 10 days ago).  On the other hand, if I phone up and find that one of two other people critical to the process don't make it in, it's sunk anyway and I can go sledging.

Brrr - I wondered why the central heating wasn't on.  I've just found out the gas is out, as water has got into the gas mains in the village.  It's -3° outside at the moment, and falling.

And more snow is expected later on.  :-\
