Just been sledging on the earth bund which masks the Leyland Truck factory. Quite diverting really as we were able to train-spot and watch a couple of falcons being flown at the same time. Had a couple of days skiing at Yad Moss, Dave and Jill of the Alston Outdoor Centre send their regards to all the LELers.

The Met Office has issued a severe weather for the east of England. We've all just had an e-mail from the head of HR saying that we are to leave as and when we see fit to ensure that we can get home.

I'm off in about 15 minutes...

We haz teh DRIZZEL again.

Like Proust's madeleine dipped in tea, so a soggy memory comes back to me of growing up in Derby, in the lee of the Trent power stations, between 1971 and 1983.

Tis said that, one day, in the great drought of 1976, the drizzle paused for a few moments. Hard to believe, and I didn't witness it myself, but possible, I expect.

Looking at the temperature, I imagine that woolly is right, and that this rain is playing musical statues. When the music stops, whatever is left on the road will form a nice smooth layer $:-\$

Probably. Still snowing steadily here, & it's quite thick in the garden, but it's much wetter than the light powdery stuff we got on Thursday night & Friday morning. Nice & icy later, I think.

It is now snowing quite hard here. Whilst Superstoker and I were out earlier, they gritted the paths in our street. Not very well- blobs of grit down the middle, but better than nothing and probably as well since the snow is now lying on top of it.
