<spellcheck off>

WTF is up with this thread tonight?  Let's ditch the slanging matches and go back to being excellent to one another.

As for SNO! I'm amazed, we've had half an inch in the last hour or so.  Still falling.

He's gonig to need to drink a lot of tea to do that, Claire  ::-)

I've got no problems with people whose grammar is poor because English isn't their first language.  Just the same as I'd be very tolerant of someone who genuinely has the sort of learning difficulties which makes seeing spelling mistakes hard for them.

In the absence of any good reason, I'm afraid that I tend to see poor spelling and punctuation as evidence that people don't give a shit.  Which is sad.

btw I don't mind being corrected... especially when I keep doing the same one again and again!

We've got nearly an inch now!

Should I go out for a walk now, or will it still be there in the morning?

It's dumping hugely here now.

It looks like it's set in for most of the night and tomorrow, and then thursday and friday are going to be sunny.  I'm off work on rest days and it is going to be GLORIOUS!!

I doubt if the snow will remain here long. Temperature at the end of the garden 0.7°C at 0200. Approx 5cm white stuff here.

Actual proper snow for a change in Brum.

The students have build a snow penis on top of the Ka parked outside.  (I tried to take a photo for the CDC thread, but the camera just wasn't up to it.)

We're walking up the hill to the hospital tomorrow for Natalya to have her stitches out.  Hopefully it won't have had time to turn the pavement to icy death before then.

About 3 inches here so far and forecast to continue all day.  Local roads not ploughed or salted, since we are about 2 miles outside Swindon and they don't generally get to us.  I shall be staying at home.

First day of term for my two today.

Youngest starts in the morning and we'll walk as (a) it's only 0.5 miles and on foot is the only way to leave the house.

Eldest returns this evening and I'm not too sure if we;re even going to try even after a day's melting, gritting and ploughing - the M-way is closed nr the school so the minor roads leading to it are unlikely to be passable.

However, had texts from both schools saying they are fully open.

We've had about 4", maybe more. Up the road from Tetbury.  ;D

Daughter's school finally relented and decided it was closed. Son walked 5 miles home from school yesterday.
It is simpler than it looks.

I've not been out yet, but there's enough snow to close school and nursery. I've got enough work brought home that my only problem will be finding time to do it. However, there is some path clearing and snowman making to do first. I wonder whether the grit bins got refilled yet, they were empty before the snow melted last time.

1gear,

Don't worry about your spelling etc.   Just think about your overall contribution.   You're welcome here so just enjoy yourself and treat everybody just as you'd hope to be treated yourself.

I bet we'll be snow free here in Oxon...

If you win this I shall be annoyed. I am just cancelling a training course to run in Oxford tomorrow and Thursday because the forecast for Oxfordshire is 15-30cm with localised accumulations of >40cm and the people are travelling from Bristol, Exeter, Reading and Brighton.

Vindicated, they closed the office we were going to use for the venue!!

12.5 cm in our yard and still (gently) falling  !

It looks as if it went a bit further West than was forecast.

The dilemma now is MTB or run, run or MTB...
