To the 'cheetah owners out there; do you have any form of rear mudguard?  I'm getting bored scrubbing the mud-stains off the left-hand side of my coat's collar.

No mudguard.   Which is one reason the 'cheetah is in the garage and not being ridden.
I thought you had mudguards front and then pannier rack with rack-top bag at the rear to give you quite a lot of shelter.

Started again (in Oxford).  I wish it would make its bloodly mind up.

The Cheetah rack sits alongside the rear wheel, not over it.

Yes I have front guards, but the road grime still sprays up over both elbows.

I was about to say, when people provide a weather report please can they mention where they are.

Thanks all !!

I'm a few miles Northwest-ish of where Tewdric is.  Hope that helps ;)

And I'm a few miles south-east of Mal Volio!

Two more inches of sno over night.

I have just seen a gang of kids heading toward the nearest hill with an inflatable dingy, which is inspired in it's speed, weight and lunacy once fully loaded.

The snow equivalent of light drizzle here in S. Cumbria. Just enough to make everything cold and damp.

You don't so much dance with the Devil, more so, do the jive with him.

Now that's just begging to be used as a signature line.  ;D

There was only a light overnight sprinkling of SNO in the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is Mos Eisley Pompey, which has done little to improve the random traction situation. It's been sleety (or a word that sounds similar) today. I just hope that by the time I'm back on shift on Sunday night, it's thawed a bit more, or dumped a decent amount of SNO.   :-\

I haven't had a bin collection for a while, and I'm not sure why, since we I'm not all that far from Croydon centre.  Even my bin is full, and it's only me and the cat.  Some of the neighbours bins are starting to disappear under uncollected bags.  If we're not getting our rubbish collected, then I can't imagine who is. :-\
Actually, it is rocket science.

I bought metal spikes for golf shoes yesterday. They are brilliant. Great match for a mountain bike with trail tyres.

Cycled through 1-2 inches of fresh snow from Slough to Langley, up to Chalfont St Peter and back again. The spikes make easy work walking through the snow. And they stop foot slip on flat pedals. Not so good on tarmac. Spent the day doing the opposite of everyone else - jumping from one patch of snow to another.

Yup. It's back to the 9 months of shitty grey this country usually calls fall-winter-spring.

I need to move somewhere else.

Pissing down here. The snow and slush seems to have gone, leaving behind a large pile of rubbish sacks.

It's warm and raining.

It's only January so, "this may not be the beginning of the end but it may at least be the end of the beginning" (half remembered quote).

no bin collections for us for the last two weeks, they are out on the road, I suspect the lazy buggers daren't drive their big lorry on the untreated road in our Close, they are on the main roads. Time to ring the council again.

I suspect that it's more to do with trying to keep your feet on untreated pavements when wielding several rubbish sacks in each hand. Elfansafety, innit. Frankly, I don't blame them.

Now, if the Caahncil had employed the same blokes with shovels to clear the pavements instead of shifting rubbish...

Plenty of grit left lying on the pavements amongst the dwindling slush in Penarth.

Is anybody gonna collect it for the February cold snap?

I thought in this country we called it Autumn-winter-spring?  :demon:
