Thick snow in zurich when I left. Our plane was de-iced most efficiently. Airport running on time, no issues.

Snowed heavily overnight in East Kent and I woke up this morning to a whiteout. Thought it was going to be a nightmare getting to work, but it wasn't - the three miles to the station was the hardest part, but one or two cancellations notwithstanding, the trains seemed to be running more or less OK, and by the time we reached Chatham, it was as if we'd moved into a totally different climate system - not a flake of snow to be seen.

Did a little ride through South Oxfordshire today. Dusting of snow everywhere, including in shady places on the roads, & ice in some places. Had to take a bit of care. After lunch, there was still snow in the shade.

Severe weather warnings have been issued for Tuesday 16th, for almost everywhere (or so it seems to me). Early days, but at least the schools are already closed.

It's been warning about snow on Tuesday since last week, so this isn't really all that new. How much it stays around remains to be seen, the forecast isn't all that cold.

I heard on the radio this morning that Folkestone races were off today because of snow, but all we had on the North Kent coast was heavy rain. Still bloomin' cold out there though.

Monday evening we drove down to Dover and passed through some very heavy snow that was settling around about Folkestone. Hills were white.

Gentle snow all the way home this evening. The moors and peaks were a winter wonderland (though shrouded in FOG - or was it low cloud? - most of the way), the roads were almost clear and not slippy.
Still snowing at the moment.

Lots of rain earlier and then the snow started.

It's settled. I thought it wouldn't, but it's coming down with a vengeance.
A blanket of it now completely covers everything apart from the main roads where
the rush hour traffic has prevented it from settling thus far.
