Hello, I'll start this thread with my very own vlog. This is the first opening video of my journey from Calais to Rambouillet, the host of Paris Brest Paris 2019.

Here is my instagram video story.  https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17997393295251500/

Instagram has non-existent video editing.  If I could be arsed I would upload all of the videos into iMovie, add music, and then repost dozens and dozens of 15 second max clips.  I actually managed to create a "music" section for Day 3, which involved manually cutting and aligning the music track over every individual video.

I watched this yesterday and found it interesting.

Its by a rider from Bristol Audax Club who slowly looks more knackered and confused as the days go on. There are some interesting shots at the start of the special bikes.

Its 37 minutes long.

A 6 minute edit of St Martin footage. We'd planned a long stop there, and even got to the stage of pitching a tent next to the fishing lake. Then we met an English couple who gave us a bed.

St Martin does a fantastic job for a commune with 350 inhabitants. This is a world I'm used to, one of ploughing and hedging competitions, sheep shows, and social committees.

We did a lot of preparation work for PBP 2011, and we interviewed Jean-Gualbert Faburel, who played a major role in organising PBP up to 2019.
https://youtu.be/t68hZ54Bpuw?t=244

We addressed the role of places such as St Martin-des-Pres at the presentation in Paris in January 2011. It's interesting to look back at the prominent 'St Quentin-en-Yvelines' branding behind that interview. Jean-Gualbert wasn't involved in this edition, but retains his role in Les Randonneurs Mondiaux.

I was very impressed by the robustness of PBP, and by the way that it coped with a lot of changes. In reality, once the cars and motorbikes pull off, it's the same as it ever was.

This one is a terrific (longish) video, 90 hours (89:10:33 for this G group Japanese rider) compressed down to 2 hours, start, each control, scenic & atmospheric highlights between, finish (happy ending), no sophistication, just a helmet cam mostly but if you wanted to relive it or wanted to know what it was like (without the effort) then this is it, highly recommended and well worth the time

I like Tor Hovland's video made with an Insta360 360° video camera while riding a Cruzbike recumbent.

Makes me Dark Side curious.
