Peaslake

We went MTBing in the Surrey Hills yesterday. Lunchtime was rapidly approaching, and our tummies were rumbling, so we thought we'd aim towards the nearest village in the hope of a pub or something. Stopping a passing MTBer for directions, he confirmed that we were headed in the right direction and that there was a cake shop "but don't have cake, the cheese straws are much better."

We got into Peaslake, and it's a cyclist's paradise! The bus shelter was surrounded by bike stands (mostly wheel benders, but not a problem with an MTB) and additional benches, just opposite a small village store which sold humungous cheese straws for 65p each, and large mugs of tea. Even the pub had half a dozen or so sheffield stands by the door. The place was packed with cyclists all grubbily quaffing tea and nomming down cheese straws and comparing maps. 8)

I approve!

There's a reason it's referred to as Teaslake... The cheese straws are legendary, and you get proper mugs for your tea
