Author Topic: Can someone recommend an inexpensive hotel/motel/hostel in Las Vegas ?  (Read 1506 times)

I'll be flying into Las Vegas from the UK in October for a 4 week tour.

I'd appreciate recommendations for somewhere to stay at the start and end of this tour. Not after anywhere fancy, clean, safe cheap are my main concerns. A short distance from the airport would probably be a bonus. I'd also like somewhere that will be obliging enough to look after my S&S backpack case for the duration of the trip.

I'll ask my brother. When I was there, all the hotels were pretty cheap - they make their money in the casinos.

Not any more .... but hotel prices are still relatively reasonable away from the big stuff (Venetian, Bellagio, Wynn etc) on the strip .. try chains like Days Inn, Comfort Inn ... even Holiday Inn Express.

Have to say I've always found that dealing direct with the hotel/chain (even phoning them up!) is cheaper than the "Laterooms" or "Expedia" type booking sharks.

There is, in fact, an HI hostel on the strip: http://hiusa.org/lasvegas . I would be very surprised if you found anyplace clean and safe for less money, unless you camped out at Red Rocks or stayed at one of the casino/hotel complexes on the California/Nevada state line.
