Fitting for Walking Shoes
« on: 20 October, 2012, 10:54:41 am »
Mrs 109 is a keen walker (particularly Nordic Walking) and is on the lookout for a new, and more comfortable pair of walking shoes (not boots).

Are there any places that offer a careful fitting service like the bike fitting services offered by some bike shops?

We're in Slough, but could also visit places in Reading, Bristol and London.

You could try Complete Outdoors at Berkhamsted/Hemel. Give them a ring and see what they say.

If there's a Cotswold Outdoor near you, I can recommend them. Their measuring/fitting service is thorough and excellent IME.

It would be worth booking if you're planning to go at a busy time. It took a good hour to measure and fit the last pair of boots I bought there, and my feet are comparatively straightforward.

Yes, 15%.

This brings their prices down to roughly normal...  ;)
