Passed through Adlestrop today, didn't try it, but it seems a rather smart room...

Still think my audax hotel on the Highlands 1000 last year trumps that by a long way.  Heating and lighting plus a door and windows that shut.

Not as impressive as Phil W's hotel, but I stopped off at this one for a 20 minute nap on Thursday.

There were quite a few good quality Audax hotels in the route I took, including one with a thatched roof!

There was a lovely Audax hotel on the A38 that I used a couple of times.

I would have posted a photo of it, however it was completely demolished by a vehicle that left the road  :o

Yep, I scoped it out on the first night with a quick 1 hour kip then used it again on the third night for a longer sleep. The heater was a bonus though I knew it was an unlocked waiting room and an unmanned station.  You had about a 7 hour window between the last train at night and first train in the morning.   I slept pretty well in there, nice and warm, silent, and the midges couldn't get in.  There were a couple of other unmanned station waiting room options further back up, and not too far off route, if I got the dozies before Crianlarich.

3-star audax hotel at Everingham, given a 5-star rating by the World Bollard Association for having a view of a bollard.

Is that a home made aero mudguard and what's it made out of?

Correx, wedged between the SKS and the frame, double-layered (with the grain in opposite directions) at the edge, and secured with cable ties.  Hairodynamics, for the improvement of, but also provides a useful place to attach a race number.

I was deliberately not molishing an aerodynamic tail fairing for racing purposes (if I wanted to be competitive in the part-faired class, I'd have to do it properly), hence the emphasis on durability rather than aero.

Why didn't you just use a skirt protector from a city bike?

Didn't enclose enough of the wheel.  Well, it probably would now.   :-[
